Events: (schedule subject to
change)
Thursday - June 13
Some
participants will be arriving early to get things set up and to reconnoiter the
area. Any events on this day will probably be in the late afternoon or evening,
and will be very casual.
Friday - June 14
All Day – Track events are being held, but these will probably be
practice sessions, etc.
8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. –
Breakfast (TBA)
10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon – (TBA) (some
events may be added here)
11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. –
Lunch (TBA) We will start by meeting for Lunch at a casual restaurant (TBA) in
the Mansfield area. Show up at the restaurant whenever you feel like it, we
won’t leave for the drive until about 1:00 p.m.
1:00
p.m. to 6:00 p.m. - Ohio Countryside Drive The driving route is still being
planned, but will be in the countryside to the South East of Mansfield. We will
try to get a “Photo Opportunity” in the little town of Lucas, and will be
driving near some state parks and other scenic areas.
6:00 to 10:00 p.m. – Dinner & Conversation We will end the afternoon
drive at a “To Be Announced” restaurant or pub. Those who didn’t make the drive
will be welcome to simply meet us at this location. We will gather for
conversation and to show off Spitfire and GT6 related photos, collectibles,
etc.
Saturday - June 15
6:00 a.m. to 7:40
a.m. – Breakfast (on your own) and Car Clean Up
8:00
a.m. – Drive to the Mid Ohio Sports Car Course We are not yet sure how parking
will be arranged, so we will drive together to the track so that we will be able
to park all of our Spitfires and GT6’s in the same general area on the infield
of the track. If you don’t drive with us, you may not be able to find parking
near our group.
8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. – British Car
Show Registration The Saturday Track Admission or Weekend Pass includes the fee
for entering this event. There will be no car cleaning facilities available
here, so bring squirt bottles and rags for final cleaning.
10:30 a.m. to 12:00 Noon – British Car Show Judging NASS is trying to
find a way to sponsor trophies for Spitfires and GT6 vehicles at this show. More
details will be provided as they are determined, but we will at the very least
have trophies for Best Early Spitfire, Best Late Spitfire, and Best GT6. Other
classes will have awards of course, and there will be commemorative souvenirs
for all entrants. All Morning – Qualifying Races
12:00
Noon – Parade Lap on the Race Course. (Triumphs will lead the pack!) All
Afternoon –Qualifying Races This part of the day is left open for folks to watch
the races and visit the Triumph Race Car “paddock area”, etc. Apparently, you
are able to drive in and out of the car show area, and may be able to park in
the remote paddock areas as well.
3:30 p.m. – British
Car Show Awards
6:30 p.m. – Evening Banquet The Banquet
will start about 6:30 and will feature a decent “Buffet Style” meal with beer
and wine provided. We assume that legendary Triumph Racer Kas Kastner will be a
featured speaker as he is the Grand Marshall for the event. It is possible that
Bob Tullius of “Group 44” fame will also be a featured guest.
Sunday - June 16
8:00 a.m. 10:30 a.m. –
Registration for Concours d’Elegance This event is open to all marques. No
additional fees will be charged. Awards will include “best Of Show”, “Best
Triumph”, “People’s Choice”, “Most Miles Driven”, “Judges Choice”, and “Largest
Club Participation”.

12:00 noon – Parade Lap for Concours entrants.
Triumphs again will lead the parade lap. All Afternoon – Several Different
Races
3:00 p.m. – Concours d’Elegance Awards,
